On Saturday, November 11, in the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., a re-consecration of the United States to the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary in the presence of the Papal Nuncio to the United States, His Excellency Archbishop Pietro Sambi, will take place.
In order to stress the importance of this act we wish to run the following article by Dr. Courtenay Bartholomew, which brings out with amazing clarity the efficacy of consecrating countries and peoples to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Consecration to the Immaculate Heart brought victory to the Allied side and an end to World War I; in fact, the armistice that ended the war was signed on November 11, the same date the Papal Nuncio chose for officiating at the Mass for the United States...
